In a corporate device management project, multiple components must work together. Your MDM server must be running; if you host this server in-house, certain ports from the server to the outside must be open in the firewall; it must communicate with Apple, communicate with the IdP, etc.
If there is any failing point in your process, it is worth checking whether the external services are online. Let’s take a look at the environments through which the MDM solutions heavily used in our country report whether their systems are working properly.
Apple
You can reach the Apple System Status page at https://www.apple.com/support/systemstatus/. Through this address you can observe the status of dozens of services, from Apple Business Manager to the Volume Purchase Program to the Software Update servers. If you want to check the status of Apple Developer services, you can do that at https://developer.apple.com/system-status/. One of the most important services concerning us Apple system administrators, the Device Enrollment Program, is listed in that section.
Apple has an MDM service that cannot be used in any country outside the US. If you use this MDM, called Apple Business Essentials, through a US account, you can also see whether this service is experiencing an outage via the System Status page.
Omnissa Workspace One
You can find out whether the system services of the UEM brand — formerly named VMware Workspace One, and even earlier AirWatch — are working properly at https://status.workspaceone.com. Because Omnissa runs its cloud-based products in a distributed structure, it also presents its system status indicators separated by region. If you wish, you can leave your email address on the same page and receive status changes by email too.
A small warning: the services listed on this page show the access status for Workspace One hosted on Omnissa‘s servers. If your organization hosts it on your local servers, it is worth checking your own network environment for access.
Ivanti Neurons for MDM
You can find out the system health information of this product — formerly named MobileIron — at https://status.ivanticloud.com, which belongs to its new owner Ivanti. If you check the server names under the Ivanti Neurons for Mobile Device Manager heading on this page, you can notice that the mobileiron name is still in use. You can subscribe for email notifications by clicking the Subscribe to Updates link on the same page.
A small warning: the services listed on this page show the access status for the Ivanti Neurons for MDM (formerly MobileIron Cloud) product hosted on Ivanti‘s servers. If your organization hosts the Ivanti Endpoint Manager Mobile (formerly MobileIron Core) product on your local servers, it is worth checking your own network environment for access problems.
ManageEngine
ManageEngine shares its system status reports through a separate domain address for each different geographic region. You can check the health status of the Amsterdam – Netherlands servers, to which users located in Turkey are connected, at https://status.manageengine.eu. Via the Subscribe button on the same page, you can also receive notifications about updates to your email address.
Kandji
You can access the system health page of the cloud-based Kandji MDM — which manages only Apple devices — at https://status.kandji.io/, and via the Subscribe button you can learn about any status changes by email or RSS reader. The System Status pages of many MDM vendors, including Kandji, also contain information about whether an outage has been reported in recent days.
Microsoft
You can access the system health page for many of Microsoft‘s services, including Intune, at https://admin.cloud.microsoft. To learn the status of Azure services as well, you can visit https://portal.azure.com.
Filewave
If you use the cloud version of Filewave, you can find out the platform status information at https://www.filewave.com/platform-status/.
A small warning: the services listed on this page show the access status for the Filewave MDM product hosted by Filewave. If your organization hosts it on your local servers, it is worth checking your own network environment for access problems.
Jamf
To learn the system status information not only of Jamf‘s MDM product Jamf Pro but also of all its other cloud-based products, you can visit https://status.jamf.com. From the same page you can also subscribe to updates via email, Slack, or RSS.
A small warning: the services listed on this page show the access status for products hosted by Jamf. If you host Jamf Pro on your organization’s local servers, it is worth checking your own network environment for access problems.
IBM Maas360
This product — formerly named Fiberlink — has a status indicator page different from IBM’s other services. You can check the system status of Maas360 at https://status.maas360.com. On this page, IBM also lists the status of Maas360 on servers located in different regions. If you wish, you can subscribe to status changes on the page using the Subscribe button.
Citrix Endpoint Management
You can see the access information of Citrix‘s MDM product Endpoint Management, along with Citrix‘s other cloud-based services, at https://status.cloud.com. If you wish, you can also leave your email address on the same page and receive status changes by email.
Mosyle
You can check the access status of Mosyle products — which produces central management solutions only for the Apple ecosystem — at https://status.mosyle.com.
Addigy
To get information about the system access status of Addigy — which, just like Mosyle, Kandji, and Jamf, produces MDM solutions only for the Apple ecosystem — you can visit https://status.addigy.com. Via the Subscribe to Updates button, you can learn about any status changes by email or RSS reader.
Cisco Meraki
You can find out the status information of the MDM called Cisco Meraki Systems Manager — which became very popular because it was free for a period — at https://status.meraki.net, and stay informed of updates using the Subscribe button.
Okta
To get information about the system status of Okta, an identity and access management service for organizations that prefer not to work with Microsoft or Google as an IdP, you can visit https://status.okta.com.
Down Detector
You can always check whether other MDM solutions or cloud-based services we could not list on this page are experiencing an outage via Down Detector. The service you check there could be an MDM solution, or YouTube or Fortnite too…
